Biotechnology Experiences in the Classroom Amgen Biotech Experience/LabXChange

Tuesdays, February 13-March 5

This course invites high school science educators to explore molecular biology labs and lessons, providing a platform to introduce students to the diverse field of biotechnology. The curriculum includes insights into the Biotechnician Assistant Credentialing Exam (BACE) and its significance for students. Additionally, participants will gain knowledge about emerging trends in biotech research and discover various career opportunities available to their students. The course offers a unique learning experience, featuring presentations from local guest speakers associated with bioscience companies based in Colorado, bringing authentic perspectives and practical insights to the discussions. Join us in fostering a deeper understanding of biotechnology for the next generation of learners.

There are 4 sessions total. The dates are: 

 ·         Tuesday, February 13, 2024 4:00-6:00 p.m.

 ·         Tuesday, February 20, 2024 4:00-6:00 p.m.

 ·         Tuesday, February 27, 2024 4:00-6:00 p.m.

 ·         Tuesday, March 5, 2024 4:00-6:00 p.m.

0.5 Credits from CSM will be provided upon completion of the course, in addition to a $300 stipend. There is no supplies provided with this course, and labs shared are all hosted virtually on labxchange.
